5 Things Rocking My World

July 25, 2008 · 3 Comments

What am I thanking God for tonight…

  1. My wife is awesome! She works hard and does so much around the house-I totally don’t deserve someone as loving, compassionate, and honest.Your life inspires me, challenges me, and makes me better.
  2. Our student leaders @ The Remedy rock my face off! They take notes, they are reading the entire bible, they serve, and coolest of all they are getting to know God better. If your a student leader-I am proud of you and you rock!
  3. A.W. Tozer-I know he’s not alive. But the dude can write! In The Counselor, he writes“The difference between faith as it is found in the NT and faith as it is found now is that faith in the NT actually produced something…”
  4. The story of David’s life is such a challenge and an encouragement. I want to model my life more like his…I want to that kind of courage and passion.
  5. War Week! I am so pumped to be in Detroit in just a few days! It’s exciting on two levels: a) the people’s lives I will be able to share Christ with b) the lives of the students going with me will be forever changed.

    Do Not Be Surprised
Do not be surprised when some church leaders do not accept you, for there has always been people who hold high positions in churches who speak evil of men and women of God.

Many of God’s people over the centuries have come up against people like that. We read in 3 John v 9 & 10, of an elder called Diotrophes, who with foolish and malicious words spoke evil of the Apostles and who would not receive them or their teachings.

He loved to have pre-eminence among the local church at that time, and if any did not obey him, he would have them thrown out of the church. Have things really changed today?
